Welcome to Montclair Pop Warner

Our goal is to encourage and increase youth participation in football and cheerleading by providing a safe and positive playing environment for all participants, and to instill life-long values of teamwork, dedication and a superior work ethic in the classroom and on the field.

For the past 18 years, Montclair Bulldogs have grown and served the community by continually raising the bar with a high standard of excellence, structure and professionalism. Our program has consistently provided opportunities to instill commitment, illustrate teamwork and build character to the young people in our area. Our coaches are certified through several continued education programs and clinics every year to ensure a safe & fun environment. The cheer squads consistently compete and represent at the North Jersey and National Competitions. Over the years, the efforts of selfless volunteers are what make the Bulldog participants proud to be part of it. It is the relationships and memories built from all the wonderful families that keep coming back year after year that make Montclair great.

The Bulldogs are open to kids ages 5 to 14 that live within the Montclair Pop Warner Boundaries. Overall, our boundaries are in the Montclair School District and Neighboring towns that do not have pop Warner teams. Montclair township participants will be placed onto roster first, then outside participants will be added accordingly.

Founded in 1929 and headquartered in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc. is the world’s largest youth football and cheerleading organization and the only youth sports organization that emphasizes academics as a prerequisite for participation. Currently, there are over 400,000 children in Pop Warner organizations in 43 states, Guam, Scotland, Germany, Russia, Japan and Mexico.

Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc. is a Youth Partner of the NFL. The NFL Players Association estimates that 70% of all current NFL Players got their starts in Pop Warner programs!!!

Age-Weight Structure & Safety, Safety, Safety! – Kids compete with kids of similar age and size. Pop Warner is the ONLY youth football program (local, regional and national) that sets and enforces a strict AGE & WEIGHT MATRIX that reduces the risk and reality of injuries. Did you know that Pop Warner football is safer than soccer? Pop Warner football has 12% fewer injuries per capita among 5-15 year old's than organized soccer in the same age range!

NFL Youth Football Partner – Pop Warner is a proud NFL Youth Football Partner. Pop Warner programs are eligible for Travel grants, organizational grants, and facility grants through this great relationship.

Mandatory Play Requirements – Everyone participates under mandatory rules of play. Each league may set a higher number of Mandatory Plays, but never less than the minimum set by National Pop Warner. All MPR's should be based on eligible players at the time of the game.

More than just athletes! – Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc. is the only national youth sports organization in America that requires its participants to perform adequately in the classroom before permitting them to play. We believe that the standards we have set give these children a sense of responsibility and an appreciation for academics and athletics that will help them develop later on in life.

Coaches and Adult Codes – All coaches, football and spirit participants must abide by a Code of Conduct which includes several provisions. If any of these rules are broken, the League shall have the authority to impose a penalty
