Pop Warner Youth Football and Cheerleading:

*Age requirement cut-off as of July 14th, 2026. Must be the age for the division you are applying for by July 14, 2026.
(Example: you must be 5 years of age by July 14, 2026, to participate in flag football for that age group.)
All first-time participants are welcome. This is an instruction program. All coaches are certified, and CPR/AED trained.
Payments and the completion of the Pop Warner player packet are both to be done through

Summer pre-season runs July 15th - August 22nd from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Nishuane Park.
Game season:
Aug 23rd-October 11th (Sunday mornings and afternoons)
Teams will play and Cheer in the North Jersey Pop Warner League vs. teams throughout Essex and Union counties. Local travel to away games.
Teams will also have the opportunity to play and Cheer at the Eastern Regional Tournament in November, with a chance to advance to the Nationals in December.
Academics: All players are required to maintain a 2.0 GPA in the classroom before being permitted to play. Participants will also be selected for the "All Academic Scholars Team", if a 97% GPA is maintained in the classroom. This is only for boys and girls in grades 5th-8th.
Registration Packet Items needed:
- 2x2 headshot photo of your child.
- Pop Warner Parent/Player code of conduct form signed by both player and parent/guardian.
- Pop Warner 2026 Medical forms 1 & 2
- #2 form athletic physical
- Copy of Final 2025 report card
All payments and paperwork must be completed before participating in the first practice scheduled on August 1st.
Volunteer coaches are greatly needed to run the program. No experience necessary; the organization will train. All coaches for both football and cheerleading must have completed background checks and certifications in order to coach.

Registration covers insurance, Cheer Top and Skirt.
Participants must supply own cheer package (cheer shorts, bows, and sneakers). Packages will be available for an additional fee.

Bulldog Flag Football ages 5-7
As of July 14th 2025
$150.00 per player
Pop Warner Flag football, is designed for boys and girls ages 5-7. All participants must be 5 years of age. Players CAN NOT turn 8 before the cut off date of July 14th, 2026 and shall participate in the league's age group for the coming season.
There are no height or weight restrictions on players.
Practices are held every Tuesdays and Thursdays 6pm-7:30pm starting July 15th through October 31st.
Games will be played generally on Sunday mornings, between August 24th-October 31st.
Participants must supply own cleats (sneakers are acceptable) and head gear.
Uniform and mouth guard will be supplied.
All participants are required to fill out a player packet prior to participation.

Tackle football: Registration starts April 1st, 2026!

New Division 8U tackle (ages 7-8 as of July 14th)
Entry level football.
Participants will learn the basics of blocking and tackling against players their own age and size. Games are roughly 1 hour in length in a controlled environment. Participants will compete against teams in the North Jersey league, with a chance to advance to the Eastern Region Tournament.
$175.00 Registration fee covers insurance, issued equipment, games, uniform jersey, and uniform pant. Players must purchase their own cleats and athletic supporter.
Division: 9U, 11U,13U as of July 14th 2026.
9U- ages 7-8-9
10U ages 8-9-10
11U ages 9-10-11
12U ages 10,11,12
13U ages 11-12-13
Equipment: Participants will be issued helmet, shoulder pads, mouth guards, game jersey and pants. Participants are responsible for cleats and athletic supporter.
League play: Montclair teams will play other teams within North Jersey football league from Essex and Union counties. Games will be a 7-8 week season from the end of August-October. Teams who qualify for playoffs will advance through November with a chance to advance to Nationals in December.
