The Montclair Recreation Bulldogs Tiny Mites Cheerleading team are Pop Warner Eastern Region champions. The cheer team will now travel to Charlotte NC in December to compete in the Pop Warner National tournament.
The cheer & Dance Championships feature over 500 cheer & dance teams who compete at the four day event;
The young team won the Eastern regional tournament November 2, at the Cure Insurance arena in Trenton, NJ to advance to the national tournament. the Eastern region, which includes Pop Warner teams from Upstate NY, NY, NJ, Eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland.
The Tiny Mites are the entry level of cheerleading & Dance in Pop Warner.
The team is led by First time Head coach Nicole Brites and features 10 participants ranging from 5 to 7 years of age. The participants in the Pop Warner program are unique as opposed to those from other programs. While they are taught about the values of competition, they are also maintaining their grades at a satisfactory level to attain the ultimate prize of being named North Jersey Champion!
The Team placed 2nd place at the Pop Warner National Tournament on Dec 7 in Charlotte North Carolina.
